What is Lughnassad?

In Celtic mythology the god Lugh established the festival as a feast, with games commemorating his foster-mother Tailtiu.  We will be celebrating in much the same fashion as a tribute to Lugh and a celebration of the harvest.

Wait, Games?

Yup! All kinds of games!  Board games, trivia games, lawn games, water games, competitive basket weaving!  When you arrive you'll join a team! You and your team will participating in games and workshops and even classes all weekend and rack-up points to try and win the Lugh-Cup! (or banner or... rock, maybe... we haven't sorted it out yet). Can you and your team defeat our reigning champions?

About the Venue:

Gifford Pinchot State Park offers a large and relatively private group camping area.  This area features a bathhouse close by with hot showers and flushing toilets. Several water spigots with potable clean water, a variety of camping spaces including shaded, sunny and even spots for RVs.

Registration includes tent-camping.  We have space for upto 9 RVs including a couple spots with electricity please e-mail ADMIN@STONECIRCLECOUNCIL.ORG for reservations and pricing information.   We have also reserved the fire-fly cabin if you are not a camper and are interested in that space please e-mail admin to discuss.

Cars are permitted to park on parking pads within the group area, which means you can camp right next to your car!

Fire and Cooking: Individual fires are permitted in park-provided fire circles, are also welcome to bring grills and camp-stoves for cooking.  There is no on-site kitchen so there will not be any meal-plan available.  Fire wood will be available for purchase on-site. DO NOT bring your own wood.

Ice: was not available on-site last year, but we are hopeful they will have it onsite this year.

Electricity: There will be a small charging station available near the Coffee Pavilion

Swimming:  The lake has refilled to pre-drought levels and the beach will be available for swimming.  Swimming is in a public are of camp: suits are required and sunscreen is recommended! Bring your own towels and chairs!  You are welcome to walk (5 mins) or drive to the swimming hole.  The park often operates a snack bar at the beach and there is also a playground there. Swimming is at your own risk; please do not swim tired.

Alcohol:  The state park does not permit alcoholic beverages.

Coffee:  In an effort to reduce trash please bring a reusable coffee mug.

COVID: This is a fully out-door event.  As COVID is always changing we have not established  a specific safety protocol for this event.  If you have questions please reach out.
